NRI category 2. General category The admissions under the NRI category are based on merit in the qualifying examination marks, in the core subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the 10+2 level. The candidates admitted under this category are required to produce proof of NRI status i.e., if the student has passed the 12th std. abroad, attested photocopies of the transfer certificate, valid passport and student visa; if the student has studied in India and parent is working abroad, then proof of employment of the parent, attested copy of the passport of the parent.
