The first category, Category-A seats constitute 70% of the total seats in the college. The Category-A seats are filled through Convener, EAMCET, Andhra Pradesh.  The second category, Category-B seats constitute 30% of the total available seats. The Category-B seats are filled by the management through the news paper advertisement as per rules.

Facilities: R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engg is located in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The campus hosts several academic buildings, hostels and residential quarters. It also has Computer Center, Central Library, CAD lab, Geo Lab, Concrete Lab, Heat Engine lab, Electrical Machines lab, Virtual Instrumentation lab, Mechanical Workshop, multipurpose hall, conference and seminar hall. The institute is well equipped with all the modern facilities. It has well maintained book library, computer lab with high speed internet connectivity. All the science labs are highly maintained and have been equipped with modern machineries and equipments.
